Primary industries minister Daya Gamage has launched a weeklong export crop plant cultivation porgramme at Poddiwela in Galle in view of the first anniversary of the present government.
This is being conducted in parallel to the ministry efforts to double export revenue by 2020.
Addressing the occasion, minister Gamage said 100,000 women would be introduced with home gardening methods to earn an annual income of Rs. 100,000.
Around 200,000 export crop plants will be planted during the week.
Deputy minister Dr. Anoma Gamage, farmers and exporters participated.
