Uva Wellasa Cocoa

Cocoa has been bringing foreign exchange in to Sri Lanka for centuries. Although Sri Lanka has been traditionally famous as a producer of “fine” or flavor cocoa recognized by the ICCO, Sri Lankan contribution for world production is only 0.10%. The objectives of the proposed project are to increase local production   by the end of 2020 and to increase productivity and quality improvement through technology development for value addition such as contributing to the chocolate industry or using cocoa butter as a base cosmetic products.
